Legal
Terms & conditions.
The agreement between you and IGDB Solutions Private Limited covering your use of DataTaper — what you get, what you pay for, and what each of us is responsible for.
Version 1.0 · Effective 14 August 2026
The short version
- One licence, one device. Your licence key is bound to a single active machine and must not be shared, resold, or transferred.
- Prepaid credits. Premium features consume credits from your plan's monthly allowance. Allowances reset each cycle and do not roll over; credit packs persist until consumed.
- Results come from third parties. We surface data from independent providers and cannot warrant its accuracy, completeness, or deliverability.
- You are the controller. How you contact the people you find is your responsibility, under the privacy and marketing laws that apply to you.
- Indian law governs. Prices are in Indian Rupees and disputes go to the courts at Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
Who we are
DataTaper (“we”, “us”, “our”) is owned and operated by IGDB Solutions Private Limited, a private limited company incorporated in India with its registered office at 421, Kamaxi Kunj, Beside D-Mart, Chhani Road, Vadodara, Gujarat 390002, India.
“Services” means the DataTaper application, our hosted licensing, billing and proxy infrastructure, the workspace at workspace.datataper.com, and this website. “You” means the individual or organisation using them.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account, activating a licence, or using any part of the Services, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
These terms apply together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, which form part of this agreement. If you do not accept them, do not use the Services.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you register, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for everything done under your account.
Tell us promptly at support@datataper.com if you believe your account or licence key has been compromised.
Licence and device binding
Subject to these terms and payment of the applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for your own business purposes.
Each licence key is bound to a single active device. Sharing, reselling, sublicensing, or transferring a key is prohibited, as is circumventing the device binding, the credit metering, or any other technical limit. We may reset a binding on request where a device has genuinely been replaced.
The services
DataTaper provides automated discovery and enrichment tooling — including web search, LinkedIn discovery, contact enrichment, email verification, and PDF/URL scanning — offered across Free, Pro, and Enterprise tiers.
Feature availability differs by tier, and some features run in a browser on your own device rather than on our servers. The Privacy Policy sets out which is which and when your own IP address is exposed.
Plans, credits and billing
- Currency. All fees are quoted and charged in Indian Rupees (INR / ₹) and are listed on our pricing page. Applicable taxes, including GST, are charged in addition where they apply.
- Subscriptions. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Free is a permanent tier, not a trial.
- Allowances. Each plan carries a separate monthly allowance per service. Allowances reset at the start of each billing cycle and unused amounts do not roll over.
- Credit packs. One-off top-ups that refill a single service. Packs persist until consumed and are not tied to the billing cycle.
- Consumption. A credit is consumed when a chargeable action is performed, whether the result is served fresh from a provider or from our cache, and regardless of whether the result is one you find useful.
- Payment. Payments are collected through a third-party payment gateway. We do not receive or store your card details. Failed or reversed payments may lead to suspension until the balance is cleared.
- Price changes. We may change prices with reasonable notice. Changes take effect from your next billing cycle, never retrospectively.
Bring-your-own keys
On Pro and above you may connect your own third-party API keys. Those lookups run directly between your device and the provider — we receive no result data, only a usage count.
Bring-your-own-key usage carries a small per-action fee once you pass the included cap. Your relationship with that provider, including its pricing, rate limits, and terms, is entirely between you and them, and you are responsible for keeping your own keys secure.
Refunds and cancellation
Plan fees, credits, and credit packs are non-refundable except in the specific circumstances set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms. You may cancel a subscription at any time; access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Services to:
- Send unsolicited bulk messaging that breaches the anti-spam or electronic-marketing law applying to you or your recipients.
- Harvest, resell, or redistribute data obtained through the Services as a standalone dataset or competing product.
- Break the terms of service of any website, search engine, or data provider you reach through the Services.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the application, except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
- Circumvent device binding, credit metering, rate limits, or any other technical protection.
- Impersonate another person, or use the Services to stalk, harass, defraud, or discriminate against anyone.
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the Services, or gain unauthorised access to them.
Your data obligations
As between us, you are the data controller for the personal data you collect, enrich, or verify using the Services, and we act as your processor.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis for that processing, for honouring data-subject and opt-out requests, and for complying with the laws that apply to you — including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR, and CAN-SPAM, as relevant.
Third-party providers
Data surfaced by the Services originates from independent third-party providers, including SalesQL, Lusha, Apollo, Serper, and MyEmailVerifier. Their availability, coverage, accuracy, and terms are outside our control.
A provider outage, coverage gap, or change of terms is not a failure of the Services on our part, and credits consumed on such a lookup are not restored except where our own systems caused the failure.
Availability and support
We aim to keep the Services available continuously but do not commit to a specific uptime figure unless it is written into a separate Enterprise agreement. Planned maintenance, provider outages, and events outside our reasonable control may interrupt access.
Support runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 10:00 pm IST by email at support@datataper.com. We aim to acknowledge every request within one business day.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time and cancel your subscription from your account or by writing to us.
We may suspend or terminate your access where you breach these terms, where payment fails or is reversed, where use of your licence suggests key sharing or automated abuse, or where we are required to by law. Where the breach is capable of being fixed, we will normally tell you and give you a reasonable chance to fix it first.
On termination, your licence ends and any unused credits and allowances lapse. Clauses that are meant to survive termination — fees owed, no warranty, liability, indemnity, and governing law — continue to apply.
Intellectual property
The Services, the DataTaper name and logo, and all software, interfaces, and documentation we provide remain our property or that of our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.
Content you upload or input remains yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the Services for you — for example, transmitting a lookup key to a provider on your behalf.
No warranty
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We specifically do not warrant that any result returned by the Services is accurate, current, complete, or deliverable, that any particular contact will be found, or that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, or loss of data, however caused.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your use of the Services in breach of these terms or of applicable law — including how you contact, store, or process the personal data you obtain through them.
Changes to the services and these terms
We may modify, add to, or discontinue features, and may revise these terms. The effective date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be notified through the Services or this website.
Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, cancel before the change takes effect.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts at Vadodara, Gujarat, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to them.
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
